The Strand, Padstow Harbour, hand-cut from a modern "Whistlefish" tin which contained a set of notecards depicting different Cornish coastal scenes and landmarks by artist Claire Henley (www.clairehenleyart.co.uk).
The designs were reproduced in thumbnail form on the base of the tin, each less than an inch across, but an absolutely perfect size for this "diptych" style of earring. Claire tells me the originals were 24" in size, quite a bit bigger!
If you choose clip-ons or studs, they will have a couple of tiny rings added at the loop to create some space for movement - the loop is higher up the earlobe so they don't swing as well as they do from the hooks or leverbacks.
READY TO GIFT
Every pair of these earrings arrives gift-wrapped at no extra cost, saving you time and effort. I make little paper gift envelopes from pretty wrapping paper for each order, and decorate each little parcel with co-ordinating ribbons and a tiny bunny charm. The pretty packages are even small and light enough to hang on the Christmas tree!
Whether treating yourself or sending a gift directly to a loved one, it's a pretty treat from the moment you open the envelope! (design will vary depending on which nice wrapping paper caught my eye!)
Please bear in mind that my jewellery is made from preloved tins. This means that they've seen a bit of life, they may have scratches and dents, bumps and scrapes, some may have faded or discoloured a little, but they're all beautiful in their own way. I try to avoid damaged parts as far as possible, but I believe it's our experiences and our imperfections that shape our character, and I think that goes for beautiful recycled treasures too. I hope you agree x
